Camping

So last weekend I went camping for the first time ever.
What an experience.

Justin and I headed up to Huntsville, Friday morning. After a 2 and a half hour drive we finally made it. We got confused as to which way we should have been going, but once we stopped to ask someone at a local Country Style, we were on the right track.

A picture of downtown Huntsville. Reminds me of driving through Collingwood on the way to the farm.

So we get there, and check in. Find our site, and set up camp.
We got the most popular spot apparently. With an amazing view of the river, and even our own little walk way down to the beach. It was beautiful.

The store/main building. The people that owned the place were so country. We loved them. They had the most amazing dog that felt like a sheep, so in turn I called her Lamb Chop.

Our spot. Number 56. Looks huge compared to the size of our tent. Definately more than we needed, but it was perfect.

I took this on the way back from the bathroom. I snuck onto another spot and it had an amazing view of the river bend, and you could see fish in the water.

And me of course.

The second day up, we ended up jumping into the river, and just feeling the water, we definately wanted to go swimming. Concidering that the water in the river only came up to under our waists we decided to go to a beach.
After asking the man in the shop if he knew of any good beaches, we decided to go to the one he said was his favourite. It was called Hutcheson Beach.
When we got there, we knew why this was his favourite.
It was incredibly gorgeous.
It was perfect, we went out so far, and could still touch the bottom. Everything about it was amazing.

View of the right of the beach. I loved how the grass came right up out of the water.

We went fishing in Trout Creek that afternoon. Justin showed me the ruins of the house where his father grew up. What a great place.
We decided to take a break from all the meat we were eating on the trip and went out for dinner instead that night. We ended up at a place called The Cottage. How could it be any more perfect?
We decided on pasta for both of us.
We went back to the camp and fell asleep for the last time in the tent.
The next morning we were packed and off by 12.

It was definately a weekend I'll never forget.
And Im sure that I want to try camping again sometime.
